  • 1801 moved from Horton to Hopewell, near the Bay of Fundy
  • 1816 sold farm and returned to Horton
  • 1817 Jul ; mvd to Pittsburg gathered church (Baptist) and preached
  • 1820 Apr; mvd Wadsworth Purchased a farm in the north part of the township.

A Baptist Church was organized under the pastoral charge of Obadiah Newcomb, in 1821. This was afterward the nucleus of the Disciples' Church. Of its original members, were Obadiah Newcomb and wife, William Eyles and wife, Samuel Green and wife and Mrs. Battison and Mr. and Mrs. Donor, of Chippewa. Another Baptist Church was afterward organized in the northwest part of the town, by Elder Dimmock, in 1836. The original members of the Disciples' Church were Obadiah Newcomb,
Sátira Newcomb. Matilda Newcomb, Victory Clark, Samuel Green, A. B. Green and Polly Eyles. "
