  • Newspaper, 11 AUG 1929: "Am enclosing check for renewal of a subscription of Mrs. S. L. [Mary Jackson Garrott] McGlathery, Pass Christian. Try to make my children presents on their birthday, of a denominational paper. We closed a good meeting the tenth, preaching was done by Rev. W. E. Locker of Roanoak, Alabama. Was glad to have the opportunity in June to visit at Pass Christian and to worship on Thursday night with Pastor Allen. It was good to see the fine work he was doing on the coast. We also had the pleasure of fishing with him and to break our record as a fisherman. Had a nice catch of trout. It was like a real visit home to be with Brother Allen, with whom we labored and loved in our stay in Mississippi. It will always be home to us in that in that state as our children were educated there. The Record is among the best things we read and we treasure and love it's editor. -- E. H. Garrott, Brantley, Alabama." -- "The Baptist Record," Jackson, MS, p. 3
