~~Obituary~~

Without warning, Mrs. Cora A. Jester was called to leave this world on the morning of Thursday,March 17, 1927, at the country home about six miles south east of Harrisonville. For about a month she had suffered from what she thought was a slight attack of “flu”. Neither she nor any member of the family gave the matter serious thought. However, she had consulted the family physician and was taking medicine to aid relief. Early Thursday morning she was heard struggling for breath and before the members of the family had time to secure outside aid she had breathed out her soul and passed on to another world. The sudden sorrow has drawn a tender sympathy from the entire community.
She was born near East Lynne, April 6, 1874, and before her marriage to Ed Jester, July 10, 1890,in Harrisonville, she was Miss Cora A. Hudson. The young couple established their home in the community where they have continued to live for almost thirty-seven years. To them were born five children--four sons and onedaughter. Of this number three sons are living, they are John E. Jester of Harrisonville, Clarence E. Jester of Walnut, Kans., and Charlie F. Jester of the home address. Besides her grief-stricken husband she is survived by two brothers and a sister, Ed M. Hudson and Silas C. Hudson, reside in Long Beach and Porterville, Calif., respectively, and the sister, Mrs. Millard Kerr, lives in Asbury, Mo. Other relatives are left behind and a large number of neighbors and friends.
Mrs. Jester will be remembered as a loyal, industrious home-builder, and a kindly, sympathetic, helpful woman of the community. She became a Christian when a young woman and united with the Christian Church in East Lynne.
Funeral services were held at the family residence Friday afternoon, March 18, at 2:30 o’clock, being in charge of the writer. The body was laid to rest in the family lot at the Orient cemetery, one mile east of Harrisonville. --George C. Monroe,Baptist Preacher. Harrisonville Study.
