Some extensive information may be viewd for Thomas Willett on his Find a Grave page (link below).
The book given as a source here, "Encyclopedia of Virginia Biography," gives some information for his ancestors, etc. This book seemed to have said that Andrew Willett was his father. However, it also refers to a Ralph Willett, of Merley Hall, and goes on, "One of his sons, Colonel Thomas Willet, born 1605...died 4 Aug 1674." What the author meant by "his" is ambiguous. What the father Andrew Willett or was he this descendant of his, Ralph Willet?
He spent some time in Leyden, Holland, where his future in-laws also were spending time. Apparentsly they met again in New England, where Thoams Willett and Mary Brown were married. They had 13 chidlren.
He was the first mayor of New York.
