Arthur Hasbrouck, 76, of 282 Old Kingston Road, New Paltz, died at Pine's Nursing Home, Great Barrington, Mass., Monday after a long illness. He was a truant officer for New Paltz Central School for over 30 years, having retired in 1966. Mr. Hasbrouck was also a chicken farmer and a former teller at New Paltz Savings Bank. Born in New Paltz March 5, 1896, he was a son of Henry and Sarah Wager Hasbrouck and was married to Mabel Louise Hasbrouck, who died January 16, 1971. Surviving are a son, Kenneth Hasbrouck, New Paltz; and two brothers, Stanley and Roy Hasbrouck, both of New Paltz. Six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m., at the Pine Funeral Home, Inc., 124 Main Street, New Paltz. The Rev. Garret Wullschleger will officiate. Burial will be in New Paltz Rural Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
