William Henry von Eberstein's last name was not Hull. Mr. von Eberstein and his wife, Annis Harding, had a daughter, Harriet Elizabeth von Eberstein who first married Benjamin Hull. After the death of Mr. Hull, Harriet von Eberstein married Henry Edward Harding.

William Henry von Eberstein was not born in Germany. He was born at St. Servan, France.

Elected 5th Sergeant of the Washington Grays
Promoted to Sergeant Major, Field and Staff of the NC 61st Regiment.

William von Eberstein wrote his memoirs before his death in 1890. Original is at Joyner Library, East Carolina University in Greenville, NC. I have a copy of the original of which part was written in German, part in French, and the total of it in English.
