Joseph Boone, Jr., born 04-30-1730 in Oley, Exeter County, PA, died at age 46 on May 10, 1776 in Oley, Exeter County, PA. Married when both were nineteen years old to Elizabeth Warren, daughter of Jacob Warren and his wife, Ann, spelled “Warin in Quaker Meeting Minutes, in Aug, 1749 in Exeter, Berks Co., PA. Elizabeth was born in 1730, although this website lists her birth as Jan 10, 1726 in Berks Co, Amity. Elizabeth was pregnant when she was married, and as a result, both were kicked out of the Quaker Church before the marriage.
When Joseph died, his wife, and nine of their 10 children went to Kentucky with Daniel Boon, the pioneer. Some sources can only confirm that three of the sons, Jacob, Ovid and Thomas, and three daughters, Catherine, Sarah and Hannah actually went to Kentucky. Excerpts from the Quaker records regarding the marriage of Joseph Boone, Jr. and Elizabeth Warin can be found at “Boone Family Research Association, ‘Boone Pioneer Echo’s” July 1974, page 19.
